Sammie Lee Goodman, 64, affectionately known as “Sam”, completed his earthly journey on the evening of July 2, 2020. Sam was born December 14, 1955 in Sumter to the late Alex Goodman, Sr. and Ethel Cooper Goodman. Sam attended the public schools of Sumter County. He graduated from Sumter High School and furthered his education at Sumter County Career Center, where he studied Auto Mechanics. Sam dedicated over 20 years of hard work to Tuomey Hospital of Sumter and many years of committed service to Columbia’s Cleaners until he retired. Survivors are his two sisters, Delores Goodman and Loretta (Odell McDuffie) both of Sumter; two brothers, Floyd Handcock Goodman of Columbia, Earl Cooper of Dorchester, MA; his devoted soulmate, Amy Spears (Tang); and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at 529 West Oakland Avenue, Sumter. Graveside Services will be held 11 a. m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 from the Bradford Cemetery, Sumter, with the Reverend Nathan Greene, officiating. The procession will leave at 10:30 a. m.
