Mozzine W. “Dollie” Montgomery, 92, went home to be with the Lord in the morning of May 31, 2020 at Carolina Pines Medical Center, Hartsville. She was born on February 25, 1928 to the parents of Hattie Porter and Charlie Wilson, Sr. in the Ashwood Area of Lee County. She worked as a domestic worker for many years. She married Elisha Montgomery and to that union came nine children. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Ruth Chambers of the home, Joseph Montgomery of Woodrow, Patricia (Melvin) Cabbagestalk of Sumter, Eddie (Gerl) Montgomery, Beverly Brunson, Curtis (Carola) Montgomery, Ruby Montgomery, Eartha Baskins, and Elaine Montgomery, all of Bishopville; one sister, Amy Yates of Sumter; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren she raised in her home and thirteen other grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 413 Williamson Road, Bishopville. Graveside Services will be held 11 a. m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Ernest Frierson, Pastor, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m.
