Edmonia Dinkins Weathers Wade, 101, was born on August 6, 1918, in Sumter County (Rembert) to the late Leacy Miller Dinkins and Hodge Dinkins. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. Edmonia was reared in a loving Christian home, taught to love God, work hard and build a strong family unit. She worked mainly in the home managing and organizing the affairs of the home. Edmonia accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the Rafting Creek Baptist Church. She was a diligent member of the Gospel Choir and Sunday School when her health permitted. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Weathers, Jr. and the late Melton Wade, Jr. God saw the need to give his servant rest and called her home late Thursday night, December 26, 2019 in a gentle and peaceful manner. Precious memories are gifts that will live in the hearts of nine children, five boys and four girls, Ed (Mary) Weathers of Delaware, Robert (Tonya) Weathers of Chester, PA, Benny (Mary) Weathers of Camden, Bland (Hattie) Wade of Dalzell, Larry (Dawn) Weathers of New Jersey, Eula Weathers and Marie Weathers of Chester, PA, Inether Mack of Rembert and Lottie (Leo) Jones of Dalzell; one son-in-law, Charlie Barber and one daughter-in-law, Diane Weathers, both of Chester, PA; two sisters-in-law, Katharine Dinkins and Evelyn Dixon; thirty six grandchildren; sixty three great grandchildren; fourteen great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her beloved Rafting Creek Church Family. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 6380 Dinkins Mill Road, Rembert. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, January 4, 2020 from the Rafting Creek Baptist Church, 3860 Highway 261 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Melvin Mack, pastor, Rev. Dr. Wayne Weathers, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11a. m. The procession will leave from the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Rafting Creek Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
