Donnie Joe Wright, 56, son of Margaret Dinkins Wright and the late Sammie Lee Wright, was born January 9, 1966 in Sumter County. He departed his life on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the home of his mother. Donnie attended the public schools of Sumter County. Donnie was known as “Do Dirty” throughout the community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping others. He always had a story to tell. He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Margaret Wright; three sisters, Shirley (Sam) Alston of Perth Amboy, N. J., Sandres Wright of the home, Carrie (Walter) Nathaniel of Sumter, S. C.; three brothers, Eddie James Wright of East Orange, N. J., Ronnie James Wright of Sumter, S. C., Herbert (Trina) Wiley of New Rochelle, N. J.; one sister-in-law, Melanie Wright; one uncle; six aunts; two special nephews, Ragan Wright and Dwayne Crim, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and a special friend, Vickie Wise. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 8075 Ruggs Lake Road, Rembert. Wake services will be 5:00 – 6:00 p. m., Friday, in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Eric R. Dent, pastor of High Hill A. M. E. Church, officiating, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 10:15 a. m. Burial will follow in the High Hill A. M. E. Church Cemetery, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell.
