Kevin Jermaine Robinson, age 40, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, South Carolina. Born at Landstuhl Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany on March 24, 1982, he was a beloved son of Willie Foster Robinson and the late Martha Jean Sumpter. Kevin was educated in the Sumter County Public School Districts, attending Wilder Elementary, Bates Middle School and Sumter High School, where he graduated as a member of the Class of 2000. Dedicated to hard work and the service of others, Kevin was employed as a proud team member of Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital for over 11 years, where he worked as a Mental Health Technician. Throughout his 40 years of celebrated life, Kevin developed a deep passion for basketball, music, singing, video games and most of all people. His sense of humor, vivacious personality and warm nature made him easy to engage and even easier to love. He has left an indelible mark on every one he has ever met and he will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memories are his father and step-mother, Willie (Mary) Robinson; his brother, Keith (Tiara) Robinson; his step brother, Eric Brooks; his aunts, Linda Franklin, Susan James (Leroy), Julie Cornish (Ernest); his uncles, Jerome Robinson, Leroy Sumpter Jr., Perry (Deborah) Sumpter, Timothy (Lilian) Sumpter and a host of beloved cousins and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Martha. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitations at the home. Viewing will be Friday, 11:00 a. m. – 6:00 p. m. The family will be present to greet friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 11, 2022, in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams, Officiating, the Rev. Joseph Ricks, Eulogist. The procession will leave from the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Hillside Memorial Park, 2561 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter.
