Cherryn Ann Hunter, affectionately known as Shay, was born March 16, 1970, in Sumter County to Charlie Hunter, Jr. and the late Annie Mae Richardson Hunter. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. She was employed at Carolina Pines of Shaw Air Force Base for twenty- two years until her health failed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: a son, Christopher Hunter (Crystal); her father, Charlie Hunter Jr.; two brothers, Charles Hunter and John Hunter; one sister, Mary Hunter Parrott (James); sister-in-law, Lavern Bryant; three grandchildren; one uncle, Council Hunter; four aunts, Alice Mitchell, Jessie Mae Hunter, Lynn Hunter and Odessa Hunter; two great aunts, Josephine Spencer and Jessie Haile, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3560 Sycamore Drive, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Sunday, November 28, 2021, in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Elder Michael Diggs, officiating. The procession will leave at 1:30 p. m. from the home, Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Highway 521 North, Rembert.
