Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Leroy “Mac” McBride, son of the late Rosa Lee McBride Gibbs and step father Leroy Gibbs, Sr., was born September 3, 1945 in Sumter. He departed this life on March 2, 2021 at Prisma Tuomey Health Hospital, Sumter. At an early age, he joined Church Of God By Faith located in Sumter, where he served faithfully until his health declined. “Mac”, as he was affectionately called, loved to have fun making you laugh at your own jokes. He had a way of letting you know when it’s enough of the jokes. He will be remembered for his smile and laughter. Mac attended the public schools of Sumter County. Due to an accident which occurred early in life caused him to lose his mobility. However, this did not stop him from enjoying fun time with family gatherings and friends. He attended outings with seniors trips which brought joy. He loved his nieces and nephews. His special bond with Jamaar brought so many memories that are priceless. His adopted family in Christ Mrs. Hilda James, Deborah and Lourdes are appreciated in caring, sharing and showing loved during his well being. Leroy leaves to cherish fond memories: three sisters, Julia Billups “AKA Sandy”, Esther Anderson and Mildred Washington “AKA Cookie”, and one brother, Hammie “AKA Randy” (Verline) Johnson of all of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID -19 guidelines, the family requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitations at the home, 37 Dollard Drive, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Park, 3001 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter, with Pastor Mack Wilson, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m.
