Edward Lee Johnson Sr., affectionately known by “Isaac” and “Zeek” of Dalzell, South Carolina, was born in Lee County on August 7, 1944. He was the son of the late Elijah and Rosa Lee Myers Johnson. While at his residence on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, he answered God’s call to move to his new that God had prepared for him. Isaac attended the public schools of Lee County. He was an extremely hard and dedicated worker who work with Hancock Farms and South Carolina Department of Transportation until his retirement. Isaac was a devoted member of Jerusalem Stuckey Baptist Church. He was a good and faithful servant who always did the will of God. He leaves to cherish his memories; two loving children: a son, Edward (Roberta) Johnson Jr and daughter, Connie Mickens both of Dalzell, SC; a brother, Elijah “James” Johnson, of Camden, SC; a sister, Annie Mae Frierson, of Columbia, SC; three sisters in law: Delores (James), Helen and Betty Jean (Columbus), all of Sumter, SC; one brother in law: Harmon (Perthenthia) of Bishopville, SC five grandchildren: Phillicia (Cedric), Cheareneko, DJ, Kiera, and Beulisha all of Dalzell, SC; eight great-grandchildren; one great -great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Isaac was preceded in death by his wife Beulah Johnson; two sisters, Elouise Tention and Lucille Boone; two grandchildren Edward Johnson III and Jessica Mckenzie. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Maggie Williams, Officiating. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:00 p. m. Burial will be in the Piedmont Cemetery, Bishopville.
