Demetrice Jacoby Williams, 42, son of the late Willie James Williams and Bennie Sanders Williams, was born December 11, 1980 and entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2023 in Columbia, South Carolina. Demetrice received his education in the public schools of Sumter and Greenville Counties, where he graduated from Mauldin High School, Class of 1999. His employment included: barber shop in his mom’s backyard shed, many years of working at Pizza Hut with uncle Roy, shrimping, but cooking was his passion along with many other entrepreneur ventures. He would help anyone and you always left with more knowledge after speaking with him. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America, the 4H Club, Upward Bound and attended USC Upstate. Demetrice leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Bennie Sanders Williams of Rembert, S. C.; his sister, Katrina Williams of Raleigh, N. C.; his children, Demarice Rice-Williams and DeShaun Rice Williams, both of Spartanburg, S. C., Faith Abella Williams of Florence, S. C., Nakiyah Williams of Greenwood, S. C.; his niece, Kaudia Williams of Raleigh, N. C.; his grandmother, Rev. Lillian Reynolds of Sumter, S. C.; six aunts, Dianne Herrington, Pastor Marie Sanders, Marion Brown, Myra Sanders, Valerie Harris and Connie Turner; four uncles, Thomas Sanders, Horace Williams (who played a vital role in his teenage years), Willie Sanders and Julius Williams, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. Demetrice was preceded in death by his father, Willie James Williams; maternal grandparents, Tom and Lurine Sanders; paternal grandfather, Julius Williams; two uncles, Ronald Williams and Wayne Sanders and one aunt, Juliette (Baebae) Johns. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 p. m. at the family home, 5748 T B Wright Road, Rembert. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 – 11:00 a. m. at Anointed Word Christian Worship Center, 609 Miller Road, Sumter, with Pastor Marie Sanders, Officiating, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. The procession will leave the home at 10:15 a. m. Burial will be in the Anointed Word Christian Worship Center Cemetery, Jasper Road, Rembert.
