Glories “Bea” Williams, daughter of the late Sam Williams, Sr. and Sadie Mae Logan Williams and wife of the late John Williams, was born on August 24, 1947 in Sumter. She was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Mrs. Williams attended Manchester High School. Although she held varies jobs over the years, her main job was being a loving wife, mother an grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Priscilla Chavous of Sumter, Gloria Dorsey of Four Acres, NC and Tamika (Marvin) Carle of Rocky Mount, NC; a stepdaughter, Barbara (Monte) Hunt of Sumter, SC; one sister, Sadie Mae Williams of Sumter; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3835 Hedgewood Drive, Sumter. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 – 2:00 p. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Jermaine H. Walker, Officiating, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 1:30 p. m.
