Essie Mae Lovely Graham, the widow of William Arthur Graham, departed this earthly life and entered her eternal home on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Born September 13, 1941, she was the daughter of Sammy Lovely, Jr. and Beulah Walker Lovely. She was educated in the public schools of Lee County. She went on to marry the love of her life and became a homemaker and mother. Ms. Essie, as she was lovingly called, was a devoted member of her Joshua Baptist Church family and along with her husband became a strong presence to our Cannery Road Community. She loved helping people and would always take time to listen and offer words of wisdom and encouragement. She was a strong force in many lives. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Brenda Graham (Samuel Oliver), William Randell Graham and Sharon Graham; seven grandchildren, Shameka Dinkins, LaVondra Dinkins, Tyrell Dinkins, Andrea Dixon, Charles Dixon, Jr., Brendon Dixon and Cheron Dixon; six great grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, close family and friends, and her special friends, Dorothy Graham-Davis, Annie Mae Jackson, Margie Keith, Diane Brisbon and Earline Gillis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Graham and an infant daughter, Willie Mae Graham. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 3935 Cannery Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, Pastor. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 10:30 a. m. Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Churchyard Cemetery.
