Vermell Robinson Williams was born May 5, 1934 in Sumter, to the late Bowman Robinson and Nora Wells Williams. She entered into eternal life on Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022 in Dalzell. Vermell attended the public schools in Sumter. After graduation, she moved to Steelton, Pennsylvania, where she met and married the late Willie Blanding, her childhood friend from Sumter. She moved to Washington, DC for a brief period and then relocated to Clinton, Maryland. She later met and married Reginald Williams and returned to Sumter, during 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Maggie Smith of Landover, MD; one granddaughter, Scheree Myers-Holston (William Holston) of Waldorf, MD; two great grandchildren, Crystal Myers of Temple Hill, MD and David Harvin of Green Belt, MD; two sisters, Edna M. Harris of Washington, D C and Lenora Long of Hempstead, NY; one brother, George Atkinson (Susan) of Fort Lauderdale, FLA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Visitation with viewing from 4:00 - 6:00 p. m. today in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, South Carolina. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 am for viewing until time of services. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Northern Christian Ministries, 2190 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell with Pastor Bennie Bradley, Eulogist . The procession will leave the home at 11:30 a. m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 North Guignard Drive, Sumter.
