Carola Lewis Johnson, the daughter of the late Fate and Bessie Lewis, was born on July 2, 1928 in Bishopville. Carola received her education in the public schools of Lee County. She later married the late Willie “AB” Johnson and to this union five children were conceived. The Lord quietly and peacefully called Carola to eternal rest on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Springdale Nursing Care, Camden. At an early age, Carola attended Mt. Calvary Holiness Church and became a faithful and loyal member of the church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Personal Savior. Later she became a member of the Mt. Calvary Gospel Choir traveling to local churches to sing. Carola leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Willie Sammy Johnson of Dalzell.; two daughters, Diann Johnson of Dalzell, and Margaret Johnson of Camden; two children she raised as her own, Monique Johnson an Henrietta Burris of Wedgefield; four sisters, Bessie Holmes of Elizabeth, N. J., Earline Sellers of Philadelphia, PA, Zooline McDuffie of Camden, Mable Williams of Cleveland, Ohio; one step sister, Perthenia (Harmon) Jenkins of Dalzell; twelve grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitation at the home, 4005 Delaware Drive, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Pastor Maggie Williams, Pastor of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Holiness Church Yard Cemetery, 771 Central School Road, Rembert.
