Keona Dasha English was born on April 24, 1986 in Sumter. She was the daughter of Phyllis English and Kim Mickens. She departed this life on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Keona was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and graduated from Crestwood High School, Class of 2005. She was employed by Comcast, Inc. as an Associate Expert, where she loved helping people. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. Keona was a believer who read her bible daily and loved God. Keona was extremely family oriented, she genuinely loved her family, and she had a very special bond with her mother, sister, and nieces. She loved spending time with her family and friends and often took pictures to capture these memorable moments. Keona was also an entrepreneur who recently started her own business, Kasty Kreations, based on her newfound love for cooking. Fashion was also very important to her, and she always took great pride in her appearance. Keona leaves to cherish her loving memories and celebrate her life: her mother, Phyllis English (Jerome); father, Kim (Fay) Mickens; sister, Brianna English (Laron); brother, Torese Derell (Das’e) Davis, Sr.; aunts, Rosetta-godmother (Francis) Hollimon, Jackie (Robert) Miller, Deloris (Kelvin) Johnson, Peggy English, Doris English, Janie English, Marilyn (Wesley) Gardner, Kathy (Curtis) Sanders, Stacey E. Mickens; special aunts, Janie Bell English, Victoria English; uncles, Thomas (Kathy) English, Andrew English, Roger (Jennett) Mickens, Mizelle (Karen) Mickens, Ricky Mickens; great aunts and great uncles, Dorothy Glover, Willie Glover, Hazel Glover, Billy (Deitra) Glover, Lyna Williams, Bertha (Lloyd) Daniels and Sonny Mickens; god sister, Shamell Bennett; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 7100 Pisgah Road, Rembert. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Friday, December 24, 2021 at Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, 2738 Woodrow Road, Woodrow, with the Rev. Dr. R. L. Brown, Pastor, Rev. Walter Robertson III, Pastor of Union Baptist Church, officiating, Eulogist. The procession will leave from the home at 12:20 p. m. Burial will be in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 5840 Springhill Road, Rembert.
