Mother Irene Pearson, wife of Aaron Pearson, was born November 22, 1938 in Sumter, to Ben and Martha Mallette Dargan. She departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2021 at Springdale Healthcare Center in Camden. Mother Pearson attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Lincoln High School. After her public education, she became employed as a domestic engineer working for various families to include A.T. Heath & Family, Mr. & Mrs. Barnes and Donna Boyle. Mother Pearson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and began her spiritual journey at Four Bridges Missionary Baptist Church. After her marriage, she became a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Usher Ministry, Women’s Ministry and Petals and Pearls Ministry. Mother Pearson was a woman of great faith and loved the Lord, her natural family and her church family. In addition to her husband, Aaron Pearson, Mother Pearson leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Christe Pearson and Loretta Pearson of Sumter; two sons, Charles (Cynthia) Pearson of Charlotte, NC and Paul Pearson of Sumter; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Pearson and Frances Pearson of Sumter, Martha Kelly of Columbia, and Mary Pearson of Bronx, NY; one brother-in-law, Thomas Pearson of Sumter; a special family friend, Mary Jacobs and her caretaker for many years, Penny Washington, eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 1270 Morris Way Drive, Sumter. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 – 12:00 Noon at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Martin Town Road, Sumter, with Pastor Julie A. Hayes, Eulogist, assisted by Pastor Barrington Pierson. The procession will leave at 11:20 a. m. from the home.
