Johnnie (Lil Johnnie) McMillian, Sr., the son of the late Clarence McMillian and Beulah Richardson McMillian, was born on February 21, 1933 in Sumter County. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Sumter Health and Rehab in Sumter. He attended the public schools of Lee County. Lil Johnnie was a member of Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Woodrow. He did farm work until his health failed. Lil Johnnie loved to fish and being outdoors. Lil Johnnie was married to Mae Jennings McMillian, who proceeded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Johnnie (Jimmy Lou) McMillian, Jr.; two daughters, Dorothy (Samuel) Blanding and Ruby (Joe) Phillips; his grandchildren, Ryan, Leon, Kevin, Lionell, Keirra, Seirra, Andre and Jermaine; one sister, Ida M. Oliver of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three sisters-in-law, Veronica McMillian, Ophelia “Gladys” McMillian and Annie Louise McMillian; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home of Dorothy Blanding, 2385 Lilbaby Lane, Sumter and Johnnie McMillan, Jr., 4210 Cotton Acres Road, Sumter. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. at the Colclough Cemetery, Dubose Siding Road, Sumter with the Rev. Dr. R. L. Brown, officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Cabbagestalk.. The procession will leave at 10:30 a. m. from 2385 Lilbaby Lane, Sumter.
