Lottie Boyd Dennis, 86, beloved widow of Jimmie Dennis, Jr., died on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 20, 1935 in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Boyd and Julia Sargent Boyd. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Rembert, and served as a Deaconess, and member of the Senior Missionary Board. She was also a member of the Jet Club. She was a graduate of Ebenezer High School, Dalzell. She was employed for several years by Campbell Soup Company. She is survived by: four sons, Jimmie (Genovia) Dennis, III of Rembert, Larry Dennis of Rembert, Gregory (Sherrie) Dennis of Rembert, and Anthony (Lorraine) Dennis of Sumter; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie; a son, Raymond; sisters, Maggie B. Davis, Daisy B. Holliday, Julia B. Jasper; brothers, Henry Boyd, Theodore Boyd, and Thomas Boyd, Jr. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home of her son, Jimmie Dennis III, 4870 Dennis Road, Rembert. Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p. m. on Friday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Anthony Taylor, Pastor. The procession will leave at 10:30 a. m. from 6430 Camden Highway, Rembert.
