Skye Giovanni Samuel-Williams, 22 passed away on September 20, 2021 in Orangeburg from an unexpected heart problems. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. Skye was a senior at Claflin University, computer science major from Bethune South Carolina. Skye also was an intern with the office of Student Development where he worked in Student Activities and at the Student Health Center. He was crowned king of the pool table where he worked at in the recreational/game room. The simplest thing in life brought great joy to Skye. He loved and tried to help anyone. During his years in school he loved wrestling, football and basketball. His favorite teams were North Carolina Tarheels, Boston Celtics, Denver Broncos and played basketball with everyone who he came in contact with. He had uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone that he met. Skye is survived by: his mom, Letitia; a proud brother to Donshae; the grandson of Eunice B. and Thomas S; an extended family Uncle Trevor and Aunt Aviance and Felicia (Cedric); and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 67 Hampton Street, Bethune. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p. m., Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lugoff, with the Rev. John Dicks, Sr., Pastor, officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 12:00 noon.
