Helen Williams Amoah, 70, was born December 2, 1950 in Sumter to the late John Westley Williams and Evelina Miller Williams. She departed this earthly life Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021 at 6:45 a. m. in Bronx, New York. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister for all of her life until her health declined in 2020. Helen was full of life and to know her was to love her. Helen’s memories will be fondly cherished by her daughter, Johnnie Mae Alston Williams; her grandsons, Tevin A. Williams and Jared B. Williams, all of Bronx, N. Y.; five sisters, Jessie Mae (Milton) White, Carolyn Williams, Mary Kathryn Taylor, Cynthia Marie James and Rovena Everett, all of South Carolina, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 3365 Highway 261 North, Rembert. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Susan Benn, officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 10:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Willow Grove A. M. E. Church Cemetery, 8105 Sumter’s Landing Road, Horatio.
