Jerry Allen Peterson, Jr., 59, son of Jerry Allen Peterson, Sr. and Mattie Lee Dupree Peterson, was born on December 21, 1961 in Vallejo, California. His life was unexpectedly cut short by an advanced stage of cancer on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. He was educated in the public schools of Okinawa, Japan; Verona, New York and Sumter. He also attended Morris College. Jerry was an excellent cook and always had an entrepreneurial spirit about his ambitions in life. He worked for himself the majority of his life. He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents; his daughters, Lashawnda “Hope” Jackson, Portia Hanson, Theresa Pack, Ashley Peterson and Madison Brown; siblings, Alma Peterson-Jackson, Sara Lynn (Bradford) Neeley, Matthew Peterson; one aunt, Christine Vaughn; a grandson, Lenue Richardson III, fourteen other grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitations at the home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Pastor Michael Miller, officiating. The procession will leave from 850 Manchester Road, Sumter, at 10:20 a. m.
