Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

On Friday, March 5, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, our Father called another servant home, Evelyn Green. Evelyn was born on December 11, 1948 in Alcolu. She was a faithful member of Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Alcolu, where she served as pastor aide, culinary ministry and senior missionary. She was educated in the Clarendon County School System. “Moot”, as her family called her affectionately, was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great mother. She was always a great care taker of her grands. She was called often by love ones and it was always a privilege to step up. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a life time companion, Lee Ernest Young of New York, N. Y.; two sons, Christopher (Vickie) Green, Ernest (Wanda) Green and one daughter, Janet Joe, all of Sumter; three brothers, Willie Lee (Ernestine) Green of Alcolu, Clyde (Veria) Green of Aberdeen, N. C., Richard Green of Sumter; four sisters, Lori Green of Sumter, Hester Way of Alcolu, Louvenia Felder of Sumter, Ruth Felder of Bridgeport, CT; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of other children she raised, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during limited visitation at the home, 695 Flamingo Road, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p. m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1260 Greenhill Church Road, Alcolu, with Pastor Delbert H. Singleton, Jr., officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 2:20 p. m.
