David Myers., 59, born December 27, 1961 in Lee County to the late Hazel Myers and Alice Johnson Myers. He gained his wings on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his home. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School, Class of 1982. David joined Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church at an early age. He was employed with Sumter Insulation. David, affectionately known as “DyeYah”, was the life of the party. He enjoyed dancing, landscaping and gardening. He loved his family. His love for his nieces and nephews was indescribable. David is survived by: his sisters, Rebecca Robinson of the home, Josephine Billups, Rolina (Hillard) Boone, Shirley (John) Wilson, all of Sumter; his brothers, Leroy (Jannie) Myers, John (Rosa) Myers, both of Sumter, Robert (Carole) Myers of Waianae, Hawaii; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitation at the home, 560 West Foxworth Mill Road, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, South Carolina with the Rev. Dr. Ralph L. Brown, pastor of Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Woodrow, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Cookfield Cemetery, James D. Herriott Road, Dalzell, South Carolina.
