Abraham Fredrick McCauley, 37, was born August 20, 1983 in Lee County to Willie McCauley and the late Mary McDuffie McCauley. He departed this earthly life on Friday, February 5, 2021 at his residence in Sumter. “Abe”, as he was affectionately known, was employed at Abilene Machine in Bishopville. Abe was well-like by many in the community. He knew everybody and brought laughter to many. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, shopping and spending time with his brother. Abe also enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching western movies. He was a jack of all trades, welding, construction work and a mechanic. He leaves to mourn his passing but cherish his memories: his dad, Willie McCauley, Sr.; a special aunt, Shirley McDuffie of the home; three sisters, Deloris McCauley of Dalzell, Joe Ann and Rebecca McCauley of Sumter; three brothers, Willie (Sharanda) McCauley, Jr. of Orangeburg, Jonathan (Felicia) McCauley of Sumter, and Matthew McCauley of Anchorage, Alaska; a special brother, James McCauley of Sumter; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family requested no visitation at the home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Maun Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert Temoney, officiating. Burial will be in Beulah A. M. E. Churchyard Cemetery, Highway 76, Sumter.
