Barbara H. M. Crim, 68, daughter of the late Samuel Holmes and Sue Lee Brisbon, was born on September 9, 1952 in Sumter. On Sunday, January 31, 2021, our heavenly father called Barbara home to rest from her labor at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Barbara was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1970. She worked at Model Dye for 35 years until her health failed. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Bishopville, where she loved attending church services and served as a member of the usher board. Saddened by her death but comforted by cherished memories are: her grandchildren, Donald McGee, Tyquandria Taylor, Dante M. McFadden, Jr., Nyjirah McFadden and Tamirror Holmes, all of Sumter; three brothers, Sammie (Nita) Holmes, Herbert (Nancy) Holmes and Isaac Jenkins, all of Sumter; adopted brother, Nathaniel Gipson of Sumter; two sisters, Marilyn Holmes and Wendy (William) Dinkins of Sumter; two adopted sisters, Altomeaze Britman and Debra Simon; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitations at the home, 44 South Blanding Street, Sumter. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 – 2:00 p. m. in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Pastor Julia Sanders, officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery, Bishopville.
