Moise Green, Sr., 92, son of the late Luther and Lottie Pickney Green, was born on August 7, 1928 in Sumter. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia. He was the second youngest of seven siblings who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, the late Susan Nelson Green and a son-in-law, Elder Clopell Rhodes. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He retired from the South Carolina Highway Department after 33 years of service. Mr. Green was a faithful member of Joshua Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Trustee Board and Senior Choir. He is survived by: one daughter, Emma Rhodes; two sons, Moise Green, Jr. and Earl Shawn Tipps; five grandchildren; five great grandsons; and one great-great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p. m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 12:20 p. m.
