Marion Leonard, 87, son of the late Ferdinand and Ida Leonard, was born August 15, 1932 in Silver. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia. Marion devoted his life to the Lord at an early age and joined Friendship A. M. E. Church in Sliver. Later he moved to Ossining, New York and there he joined St. Matthew Methodist Church. While living in Ossining, New York, he worked at Hudson Wire and at Sing Sing Prison as a Special Assignment Officer until he retired. Marion was married to the late Ann E. Tindal Leonard. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his children, Vanessa (Wayne) Croom of Wedgefield, Angela (Aaron) Scott of Gadsden and Cynthia Leonard of Sumter; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; three sisters, Mary Ann Dickerson of Charleston, West Virginia, Harriet Ragin and Dorothy (Rev. Julius) Ragin of Pinewood; three brothers, Ivan (Dianne) Leonard of Franklin, VA, Robert Leonard of Sumter and Ferdinand Leonard, Jr. of Stanford, CT; one god grandson, Eric (Felica) Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 670 Adger Lane, Sumter. Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 17, 2020 – 3:00 p. m. at the Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1130 Granby Lane, Summerton, with the Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson, pastor, officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 2 p. m.
