Tammy T. Sweat-Stephens, 44, was born August 17, 1975 to Rosa Mae James Marshall and the late Richard Marshall in Sumter. She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated from Scott’s Branch High School, Class of 1993. In her early years, she was employed at former Gold Kist and Bosch of Sumter and also Federal Mogul of Summerton. When she was married to Cleveland Sweat, Jr. and stationed in Kitzingen, Germany, she was the director of a daycare on the Military Base. Afterward, she became a certified manager and an Insurance agent. Her most recent job before her untimely death was a Financial Advisor with Regional Finance of Augusta, Georgia. In her later years, she joined the union of marriage with Washington Stephens, Jr. Tammy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother and friend, She was a person who was very supportive. She brought smiles to all who knew her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. On Tuesday morning, July 14, 2020, Tammy T. Sweat-Stephens gained her angel wings at Augusta University Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. She leaves behind precious treasures: her husband, Washington Stephens, Jr. of Rimini; three sons, Staff Sergeant Trayon (Camille) House of Fort Riley, Kansas, Armani Sweat and Gianni Sweat, both of Augusta, GA one daughter, Na’Leyah Sweat of Augusta, GA; her mother, Rosa Mae Marshall of Rimini; one sister, Candace Dicks of Sumter; two grandchildren, Travon and Camila House of Fort Riley, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2020 – 11:00 a. m. in the Antioch A. M. E. Church Cemetery, 8800 Camp Mac Boykin Road, Pinewood, with the Rev. Dorothy White, officiating. The procession will leave from 1055 Chesterfield Drive, Sumter at 10 a. m.
