Patricia Ann Jefferson, 65, daughter of the late Ruby Mae Jefferson Temoney and the stepdaughter of the late James Edward Temoney, departed her earthly life on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Sumter County on July 31, 1954. She attended the public schools of Sumter County to include Mayesville Institute and Eastern High School. She was employed at Holiday Inn, now Quality Inn of Sumter for many years as a housekeeper. At an early age she joined the Ebenezer A. M. E. Church in Mayesville. Patricia leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Wendy (Thomas) Commander of Sumter, Tara Elizabeth Jefferson of Florence; eight grandsons, Xavier, Tyrek, and Tyler Commander of Sumter, Tyrell Commander of Clemson, Jared Jefferson of Columbus, GA, Jeremy, Jakobe and Joel Jefferson of Florence; three great grandsons, Chase and Corey Jefferson of Florence, Cameron Commander of Sumter; five honorary granddaughters, Whitney, Courtney, Destiny, Meliney and Tiffany Govan of Sumter; five sisters, Ella J. Hall of Florence, Harline and Wanda Jefferson of the home, Annie Prioleau and Miriam Steele of Manhattan, N. Y.; three brothers, Willie (Lynda) Jefferson of Denmark, Louis (Verniece) Jefferson of Sumter, James (Gloria) Jefferson of Mayesville; three other sisters-in-law, Mildred D. Cato of Sumter, Mary Cato of Dalzell and Gwendolyn B. Cato of Raleigh, N. C.; a nephew and caretaker, Ricky Jefferson of the home; and a host of other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 2100 Avenue B, Mayesville. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p. m., Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Ebenezer A. M. E. Church, 119 East Sumter Street, Mayesville, with the Rev. Phillip L. Washington, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be place in the church at 12:00 noon. The funeral procession will leave the home at 12:20 p. m. Burial will be in the Mayesville Cemetery.
