Pearl Ann Benjamin, 70, began her journey in this life on October 11, 1948, as the first daughter of twelve siblings of the late Arthur and Pearl Williams in Greymont, GA. At a very early age, the family migrated to Jersey City, NJ. She dedicated her life to be a caring Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She spent her life caring for others. On Sunday, August 25, 2019, God saw fit to pick and care for this flower. Born as Pearl Ann Williams, she met and married the late Robert Earl Benjamin, March 1971 in Bayonne, NJ. They remained married until his untimely death on April 6, 1999. Pearl bore six children into the world. She made it seven when she adopted another daughter whom she provided, cared for and raised. Pearl Ann was a born again Christian, being a member of St. Mary’s Evangelical Church, Jersey City, NJ for more than 30 years. She relocated to Sumter in November 2016, became a member of Alive Praise & Worship Center & Ministries where she enjoyed praising and worshipping God. She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Christoria Williams-Smith, Mary Alice Chisolm, Sharlette Williams-Johnson, Tamika Williams and Danielle Williams; two sons, Alexander Williams and Robert Benjamin, Jr.; two sons-in-law, Rickie Chisolm and Darrin Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Crystal Williams; sisters, Ruth Kelly, Bernice Williams and Carol Williams; brothers, Thomas Williams, Jerome Williams, Curtis Williams and Marvin Williams; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 112 Lesesne Drive, Sumter. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, 11 a. m., from the Alive Praise & Worship Center, 342 Liberty Street, Sumter, with Pastor James F. Goodman, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will be at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Linden, N. J.
