Hezekiah "OT" Abrams,87, husband of Ora Lee Joe Abrams, departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Lake City-Scranton Health Care Center, Scranton.


Born in Sumter County on May 8, 1922, he was the son the late T. O. and Carola Givens Abrams.

He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. Hezekiah served in the United States Army during which he received the EAMET Ribbon with 2 Bronze Service Stars, American Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from the Department of Transportation after many years of service. He was a life long member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (USA), where he served on the Trustee Board and Usher Board.

In addition to his wife, Ora Lee Joe Abrams, he is survived by two sons, Alexander Abrams of Patterson, NJ, Jeremiah Joe of Germany, and one daughter, Sue Abrams of Patterson, NJ; two sisters-in-law; nine grand children; twenty one great grand children; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Thursday, October 29, 2009 from the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (USA), 4620 Queen Chapel Road, Dalzell, with Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson, Stated Supply pastor, eulogist, assisted by Elder Sharon McCoy.

The family will receive friends at the home 1090 Salterstown Road, Sumter.

The Remains will be place in the church at noon.

The procession will leave from the home at 12:30 p. m.

Floral Bearers will be nieces and friends of the family

Pall Bearers will be friends of the family.

Burial will be in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
