Deaconess Lida Bell Glover Rembert,  93, widow of Deacon Harmon Rembert, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Tuomey Health Care System, Sumter.  Born April 25, 1920, in Sumter County,  she was the daughter of the late Deacon Parrish and Ester Mack Glover.

She was a lifetime member of Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and a former president of the Senior Missionary Society.  She was also a member of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, Lodge #8, the D. L. Glover Singers, and the Starlight Female Singers.

Mrs. Rembert was a member of the Salterstown Community Planning Committee and the first director of the Feed-A-Child program in her community.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Herbert (Velma) Glover of Rembert;  ten sons, Hampton (Mable) and Levi (Evelyn), both of Bishopville, Herman (Debra),  James (Debbie), Anthony (Loretta),  Willie (Mary), and Samuel, all of Sumter,  Parrish (Naomi) of Washington, DC, David (Lucille) of Atlanta, GA,  Rev. Charlie (Karen) Rembert  of Virginia Beach, VA;  two daughters, Lottie and Mary, both of Sumter;  forty two grandchildren;  sixty eight great grandchildren; thirty five great-great grandchildren; a  host of  nieces, nephews, cousins,  other relatives  and  friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Harmon Rembert, Sr.; two sons, Eddie and Johnny; three brothers; four sisters; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, January 31, 2014 from the Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5405 Black River Road,  Rembert,  with  the Rev. Clifton N. Witherspoon,  pastor,  eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Alvin Webb, Rev. L. W. Barnes, Rev. Nate Brock, and the Rev. Robert Thompson.

The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the home,  945 Unity Court, Sumter.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 11:00 a. m.

The funeral possession will leave from the home at 11:20 a. m.

Floral bearers will be granddaughters and GHMBC Senior Missionaries.

Pall bearers will be grandsons and GHMBC Trustees.

Burial will be in the Grant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
