Mable D Sanders

Mable Deas Sanders, 91, departed this life on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation, Sumter.  Born in Sumter County  on April 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the  late Willie Deas and Harriett Isaac Deas.  

Mable accepted Christ at an early age and joined Joshua Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Harvin.  She met and married Leland Sanders in 1945.  In this union they raised one son, James Sanders.  After her marriage she joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Missionary Society and Sunday School.  In the mid nineties she decided to return to her home church, where she was a devoted member of the Missionary Society.  She was a loyal supporter of her church until her health failed and she entered Mariner Health Care-West.  Mable was a shy person with a sweet spirit.  She enjoyed visiting and helping anyone in need.

Mable leaves to cherish fond memories: one son, James Sanders, and a grandson, Tyree Sanders, both  of Newark, N. J.;  one sister, Bernice Canty of Irvington, N. J.; one brother-in-law, Walter Sanders;  fiver sisters-in-law, Marie Byrid,  Levenia Herriott,  Pauline Herrington,  Sally Tarver and Mary Sanders;  a special niece and caretaker, Marie Deas;  a caretaker, Perry Walker;  a special friend, cousin and caretaker, Eartha Wiggins;   several other nieces,  nephews,  many other family,  friends and  church family members.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p. m., Friday, November 23, 2012 from the Joshua Baptist Church,  5200 Live Oak Road,  Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, pastor,  the Rev. Roosevelt Williams,    eulogist,  assisted by the Rev. Clarence McCall, and  Rev. Jerry McCall.    

The family will receive family and friends at the home of  her niece,  Marie Deas,  6630 Camden Highway, Rembert

The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p. m.

The funeral procession will leave from the home of her niece at 1:50 p. m.

Floral bearers will be Senior Missionary Society.

Pall bearers will be Trustees and friends.

Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Sumter.
