God in his infinite wisdom came into our midst on Monday, July 9, 2012 and took our beloved, Corine Myers Johnson, 95, widow of Deacon Alex Johnson, Sr. Born in Lee County on September 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Myers and Susie English Myers.
Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities until her health declined. She loved her church, family and friends. To know her was to love her. She was one of a kind. She’s with our Father above. She set a fine example of what we all should be. The reward is that she’s with him resting in his care/arm. The void we’re feeling inside us, we’ll give to God in prayer.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son, Alex (Christine) Johnson, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Mary Johnson of Paterson, N. J.; one stepdaughter, Flossie (Eddie) Cooper of Paterson, N. J.; one daughter-in-law, Waudell Johnson of Dalzell; seven grandchildren, Corine (Rev.
