Corine M. Johnson
Sep 28, 1916 to Jul 09, 2012

God in his infinite wisdom came into our midst on Monday, July 9, 2012 and took our beloved, Corine Myers Johnson, 95, widow of Deacon Alex Johnson, Sr.  Born in Lee County on September 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Myers and Susie English Myers.

Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities until her health declined.  She loved her church, family and friends.  To know her was to love her.  She was one of a kind.  She’s with our Father above.  She set a fine example of what we all should be.  The reward is that she’s with him resting in his care/arm.  The void we’re feeling inside us, we’ll give to God in prayer.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son, Alex (Christine) Johnson, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Mary Johnson of Paterson, N. J.;  one stepdaughter, Flossie (Eddie) Cooper of Paterson, N. J.;  one daughter-in-law, Waudell Johnson of Dalzell;  seven grandchildren, Corine (Rev. Eddie) Thomas, Patricia (John) Singleton,  Bessie (James) Shaw, Mary (Fred) Dennis, Rosa Davis, Alfie (Terry) Johnson and Shalana (Gary) Swaby;  ten great grandchildren;  seven great-great grandchildren;  a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 from the Jerusalem Stuckey Baptist Church, 1407 Jamestown Road, Bishopville,  with the Reverend Julia V. Sanders, officiating, eulogist, assisted by  the Rev. Eddie Thomas, Rev. Raymond Cook,  Rev. J. Elbert Williams, and Rev. Nathaniel Dixon.

The family will receive friends at her home, 514 James Davison Heriot Road, Dalzell.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 12:00 Noon

The procession will leave 12:20 p. m. from her home.

Floral bearers will be the Twelve Tribes of Israel, Lodge No. 11, Judes.

Pall bearers will be her nephews.

Burial will be in the Cooksfield Cemetery, Dalzell.
