Andre Spann,  31, departed this earthly life on Monday, January 23, 2012 in Lee County.  Born in Sumter County on April 8, 1980, he was the son of James and Mable Plowden Spann, Jr. 

Andre, affectionately known as “Kinnell” to his family and close friends, was a good person with a big beautiful smile.  He attended the public schools of Lee County.  He enjoyed working outside with his hands.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory:   his parents, James and Mable Spann, Sr. of Mayesville;  one daughter, Sky Spann of Pennsylvania; two brothers, he adored James Keon Spann, Jr. and William Jaquan Spann of Mayesville;  three loving sisters,  Sheila (Robert) McNeal of Columbia, Lisa (Hazel) Richardson of Charlotte, N. C., Jennifer (Kentari) Etheridge of Simpsonville;  five nephews, Kevion, Tyler, Brandon, Nicholas and Justin;  five nieces, Keiotta, Keimarri, Taylor, Ivory and Madison;  eight aunts;  seven uncles to include a special uncle, Douglas Plowden;  a devoted grandmother, Flossie Briggs Plowden;  two special aunts, Jannie (Honey) Edwards and Beatrice Plowden; a host of cousins,  Clayton Jr., Kenrick, Leonard, Cortez, Montez, Montigo and Jeffrey; a special friend, Phillis Wilson; and a host of  other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his twin children,  Nakeem and Nakeema Spann; his paternal grandparents, William and Maybell Spann, Sr., his paternal grandfather, William T. Plowden, Jr.; his aunts, Catherine Micken and Flossie Plowden and an uncle, Leroy Plowden, Sr.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday,  January 28, 2012 from the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel,  Williams Funeral Home, Inc.,  821 North Main Street, Sumter  with  the Reverend Alvin Webb,  pastor of Unionville A. M. E. Church,  officiating,  eulogist, assisted by Elder John Plowden.

The family will receive friends at the home 6712 St. Charles Road, Mayesville.

The funeral procession will leave from the home at 11:20 a. m.

Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be friends of the family.

Burial will be in the Unionville A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery,  1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville.
