Brenda “Beck” King Wilson, 58, abruptly departed this earthly life on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her home. Born February 28, 1953 in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Gillon and Rebecca McDonald King. She attended the public schools of Lee County. Beck was employed for over 25 years at Zimac Inc., Lynchburg.
Beck was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Temple Holiness Church, where she served diligently until the day she died. She served on many auxiliaries with in the church to include the usher board, Sunday school teacher, Intercessory Prayer Warrior, Evangelist team and the senior choir.
To know Beck was to love Beck. She touched the lives of all she came in contact with. She enjoyed those Saturday outings to the flea market and anywhere edible, but her joy came in taking care of her family and especially her grandchildren. “Ga Ga”, as her grandchildren affectionately called her, will definitely be missed by man.
Beck leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, James J. Wilson; one son, Albert Ervin, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Starlight Ervin of the home, Latestia C. (Dequan) Anthony of Fayetteville, NC; three sisters, Hattie Campbell and Lillian King of Elliott, Hannah (Tommie) Smith of Society Hill; three brothers, Charles (Kathleen) King of Elliott, Elvis (Janet) King of Bishopville, Johnny (Josephine) King of Columbia; her mother-in-law, Mamie Lee Wilson; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; five grandchildren, Zyquiel Ervin, Aujiah Ervin, Tiyanna Anthony, Xavier Jackson and Dequan Anthony; a host of nieces, nephews, special children, other relatives, friends and her Pentecostal Temple Church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 from the Lee Central High School Auditorium, 1800 Wysacky Highway, Bishopville with the Rev. Betty Graham, officiating, eulogist, assisted by Elder John Plowden, Elder Lucious Wilson, Minister Modestine James and Elder Rickey Harriott.
The family will receive friends at the home 16 Tram Road, Elliott.
The Remains will be placed in the Auditorium at 10:00 a. m.
The funeral procession will leave the home at 10:15 a. m.
Flower bears and Pall bears will be friends of the family.
Interment will be in the Pentecostal Temple Holiness Church Cemetery, Elliott.
