Edith Jackson Fuller, 72,   answered her call to eternal rest on  Tuesday,  August 10, 2010   at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.
Born  in Sumter County on March 20, 1938,    she was a daughter of the late Colclough A. Jackson and Rose L. Givens Jones.  She attended and graduated from the Harlem Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Harlem Hospital and retired in 2003 from New York University School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology at Bellevue Hospital.
She leaves to rejoice in her loving memory: a daughter, Cheryl Hutchins of Pomona, NY; two god daughters, Alicia Reid and Tonette E. Dixon of Spring Valley, NY; her sisters and brothers, Dorothy D. Shields of Brooklyn, NY, Charles E. Thomas of Bronx, NY, Majorie J. Lee (Ronald) of Charlotte, NC,  Robert Davis,  Eva G. Payne,  Ernestine L. Mickens, Stella M. Boone (Ervin),  Leo S. Mickens, all  of Sumter; a favorite brother-in-law, Maxwell Grant of Brooklyn, NY;  two aunts, Lizzie Jackson of Sumter and Thelma Smith of Wadesboro, NC.  Cherishing her memory will also be  a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral  services  will  be  held 11:30 A. M.,   Saturday,  August 14, 2010  from   the  Allen Chapel   A. M. E. Church, 471 Lyman Road, Sumter,  with Reverend Timothy Cokley,  pastor,  eulogist, assisted by Rev. Barbara Reid pastor of Antioch United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson pastor of Congruity Presbyterian Church, Dr. Ella Busby pastor of Goodwill Presbyterian Church and Rev. Ruth Oliver pastor or Rock Hill A. M. E. Church

The family will receive friends at the home 3105 Ashlyn Way, Sumter.

A  Wake  and the Omega Service  with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority  will be  held 7:00 – 8:00  P. M., Friday in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, 821 North Main Street, Sumter.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:30 A. M.

The  funeral  cortege  will leave  from  the  home at 11:00 A. M.

Flora Bearers will be Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church Women’s Missionaries, Stewardesses, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Rockland County, New York Chapter.

Pall Bearers will be Male Trustees, Stewards, Family and Friends.

Burial will be in the Hillside Memorial Park, Sumter.
