Isiah Cooper, Sr., 82, husband of Ethel M. Cooper, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Born March 4, 1937, in Duncan, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Ethel L. Jackson Cooper. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was a member of Saint Matthew United Methodist Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a long time employee and worked as a foreman and Union Steward at the Wonder Bread Bakery in both Milwaukee, WI and Davenport, IA. Upon his retirement, Isiah and his wife moved to Sumter, where for the last 12 years of his life, he was a member of New Fellowship Covenant Ministries, Inc. Isiah loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Isiah leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Isiah (Janice) Cooper, Jr. of Compton, CAL; two daughters, Gwendolyn (Israel) Parker of Sumter and Crystal (Jeff) Kane of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Elizabeth Watson of Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 680 Bennington Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at noon in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Pastor Kenneth Isaac, officiating, Prophetess Victoria Parker and Elder Gwendolyn Parker, eulogists. Funeral procession will leave from the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Robinson Cemetery, 455 Shedricks Lane, Sumter.
