Mary Lou Jenkins-Green, 88, widow of David V. Green, was born in Lee County on July 1, 1931 to the late Harry Davis, Sr. and Charlotte Jenkins Green. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Blue Ridge of Sumter Nursing Facility, Sumter. Mary started her early education in the public schools of Lee County. She moved to Sumter in the late 1950ís, where she continued her education until she received her certification as a home health care nurse. She also worked for JC Penny. Mary joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1960ís and has been a faithful member. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star, where she served faithfully until failing health restricted her activities. Precious memories will be cherished by: her children, William Arthur, Ernie E., Harry L., Willie J., Luscious (Jim), John (Theresa) and Dianetta; twenty two grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy (Thelma), Albert and David (Alberta); two sisters, Eloise and Elizabeth (Derek); a special nephew, Robert Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 26 South Magnolia Street, Sumter. Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019, 2 p. m., from the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 803 South Harvin Street, Sumter, with Senior Pastor Marion H. Newton, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p. m. The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Colclough Cemetery, DuBose Siding Road, Sumter.
