Annie Lou Andrews Pringle, 97, widow of David Pringle, was born on May 22, 1922 to the late James and Chloe Williams Andrews of Sumter. She departed this earthly life on Friday, September 6, 2019 at her home. She was reared in a Christian home and attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She later joined her husband at Beulah U. M. E. Church, Sumter County. She attended and received her formal education at The Bracey School in Sumter. She was employed and retired from the Sumter School District #17 after over forty years and a faithful confidant of the Shaw family for many years. She was a lifelong member of United Women Savings Club. She leaves to mourn: two daughters-in-law, Collette Andrews and Elizabeth Andrews, both of Sumter; one daughter reared in the home, Pauline Sheppard of Miami, FLA; grandsons, Eric Andrews (Yvette) of Waverly Hall, GA, Jeffery Andrews (Mary) and Craig Andrews of Sumter, Warren Andrews of Sacramento, CA; and Vernell Andrews, James Andrews, Elder Ronnie (Carolynn) Dukes of Brooklyn, NY, James Andrews, Joe Andrews, Winfred Rose, Theran (Tina) Rose, Lefty Miller, all of Newport News, VA, Woodrow Rose of Burner, N. C., Pearlie Peoples, Jr., LeeVern (Louise) Peoples, James Earl Peoples, John Sheppard of Sumter; granddaughters, Chandra (Albert) Gibson of Charlotte, N. C.; and Edna Mae (Alonzo) Hawkins of New Jersey, Margaret Wells, Shirley (Ricky) Alston, Cynthia Dukes, all of New York, Carolyn Joiner of San Diego, CA, Joyce (William) Harden of Miami, FLA, Rebecca Rose Hines, Faythe (Bruce) McFadden, Helga (Larry) Stokes; and a host of great grand children, great great-grand children, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to carry on her legacy. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 37 Murphy Street, Sumter. Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, 11 a. m., from the New Bethel Baptist Church, 3249 Highway 15 South, Sumter, with the Rev. Willie A. Wright, Jr., pastor, the Rev. Jonathan Smith, pastor of Beulah U. M. E. Church, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Hillside Memorial Park, 3001 Cainís Mill Road, Sumter.
