Charles Williams

Charles Williams, 68, departed his earthly life on Friday morning, August 30, 2019 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital, Columbia. Born March 18, 1951, in Sumter County, Charles, affectionately known as Buck or Bubba, was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Wheeler Williams. Later during his teenage years, Charles moved to Manhattan, NY, for several years before moving back to Sumter. Charles later accepted Christ under the leadership of then Pastor Sammy C. Smith at Grace Cathedral Ministries of Sumter, where he remained under the leadership of Bishop Anthony Gibson until his earthly departure. Charles spent most of his working years as a construction worker, a heavy equipment operator and eventually became a longtime construction foreman / supervisor. Charles played an intricate role in the constructing of different key building sites around Sumter and surrounding states. On December 31, 2011, Charles married his best friend and love of his life, Ronetta of which they both remained loyal until his earthly departure. From this union, Charles and Ronetta has a blended family of fourteen, consisting of sons and daughters. Charles is survived by his wife, Ronetta A. Williams; three sons, Charles (Tonia) Dargin, Keithan Williams and Earl (Oddise) Lundy III; eleven daughters, Pastor Avril (Joe) Wiggins, Tresa Jasper, Cherina (Eddie) Hardy, Rolitta Lundy, Pauletia Williams, Saundray Howard (Calvin), Lashawn Norfus (Allen), Raquitta Lundy, Amanda (Cory) Hart, Aminah Hart and Briana Hart; three brothers, Nathan (Darlene) Williams, Larry (Alice) Williams and Anthony (Sarah) Williams; three sisters, Hadiyah (Frank) Muhyee, Elizabeth (Clarence) White and Gloria Williams; thirty eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 2121 Greenville Circle, Sumter. Homegoing Services will be held 11 a. m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 from the Grace Cathedral Ministries, 90 Oswego Road, Sumter, with Bishop Anthony Gibson, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The funeral procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Beulah A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery, Florence Highway, Sumter.
