Virginia Burns Cooper, 71, departed this earthly life on Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home. Born on January 3, 1947 in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Ada Spann Lewis. She was raised by Lucious and Conelia Burns. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. Virginia was employed for over 28 years at Procter N Gable in Stamford, CT. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Isiah Cooper of Sumter; one son, Darryl (Alecia Roberts) Cooper of Norwalk, CT; two sisters, Ollie Mae Gallishaw and Ada Bell Albert, both of Sumter; two brothers, John Henry Lewis of Timmonsville and Lucious Burns of Sumter; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 501 Robney Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, 3 p. m. from the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Bishop Alex Juitt, officiating, eulogist. The funeral procession will leave from the home at 2:20 p. m.
