James W Demore

James William Demore, 80, son of the late Henderson Clay Demore and Hattie Williams Demore, was born on October 2, 1937 in Bowman. James departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2018 in his home. James moved to New York days after he graduated High School. He began working at a laundry company for hospitals and hotels industry. He later worked at Allied Custodial Service Company, where he retired from. Before working at Allied he met Leila Mae Reed and they were later married. She passed away on March 26, 1989. James was later remarried to Ruth Blake in June 1990. She passed away in 2003. James is survived by one brother, Henderson Clay Demore, Jr. of New York; three children, James E. Demore, Carolyn Demore and Micheal Demore, all of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; eleven great grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of his daughter, 1740 Mossberg Drive, Sumter. Homegoing celebration will be held Friday, September 28, 2018, 1 p. m. from the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Pastor Marie Sanders, officiating, eulogist. The funeral procession will leave the home at 12:20 p. m.
