Richard Deas, Jr., son of the late Richard Dais, Sr. and Elizabeth McLeod Dais, was born on June 29, 1940 in Sumter County. He departed this life on Monday, September 10, 2018 at his home. He attended the Public Schools of Sumter County. Richard worked at Hanson Brick and Gravel Pit for several years, where he retired. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn his passing: a very special friend and companion, Mary Moody; a daughter, Dana Deas Smith; two sisters, Allie (Kenneth) Gross of Bowie, MD, Margie (Andrew) Moore of Rembert; one brother, Charles (Alice) of Fort Washington, MD; two stepdaughters, Tarlisa Dennis and Mary D. Moody; three uncles, Whitt (Ruth), Charles (Mary), and Eugene (Dorothy), all of Rembert; one son- in- law; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 5830 Stagecoach Drive, Rembert. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2018, 1 p. m. from the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Anthony Taylor, Pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 12 noon. The funeral procession will leave the home at 12:30 p. m. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
