Randolph “Randy” Richardson, 55, departed this life on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Born January 25, 1963 in Sumter County, he was son of the late Rev. Frank H. and Rebecca McFadden Richardson. At an early age he joined Mechanicsville United Methodist Church. Later he became a part of the music ministry at Ebenezer A. M. E. Church, Mayesville. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Maywood High School, Class of 1981. He attended Central Carolina Technical College. He was employed at S & S Muffler and previously employed by Color-Fi and Georgia Pacific. Randy would bring laughter everywhere he went and he enjoyed the times spent traveling with his siblings and their families. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Rosemary Jefferson Richardson of the home; three sons, Randolph Jefferson of Sumter, Quinton Jefferson of Greenwood and Aaron Jefferson of Sumter; two daughters, Quantia Richardson of Charlotte, NC, Tevishiah Quanna (Jimmy) Lucas of Elgin; three sisters, Venete (Henry) Edwards of Washington, DC, Edna James of Paterson, NJ, Lucile Myers of Sumter; seven brothers, Frank (Grace) Richardson of Fayetteville, NC, Charles (Robina) Richardson, John (Layvonne) Richardson, Mallie (Dot) Richardson, Charlie (Deborah) Richardson, Michael (Barbara) Richardson and Ronald (Cynthia) Richardson, all of Sumter; mothers-in-law, Martha Jefferson and Liza Jefferson; sister-in-law, Katie (Clarence) Wilson of Harker Heights, TX; brother-in-law, Colonel Marion Jefferson of San Antonia, TX; one aunt, Mary Lee Davis of Paterson, NJ; three grandchildren; five special niece and nephews; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 1060 Toby Court, Sumter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 - 2 p. m. from the Ebenezer A. M. E. Church, 119 East Sumter Street, Mayesville, with the Rev. Phillip L. Washington, pastor, eulogist. The funeral procession will leave from the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will be in the Mayesville Cemetery.
