Freddie Mae Durant Carr, 58, was called from labor to reward in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Durant family home in Rembert. Born on November 12, 1959 in Sumter County, she was daughter of the late Robert and Janie Parker Durant. She was a 1978 graduate of Hillcrest High School. Mrs. Carr was w paraprofessional educator employed at Oakland Primary School until her health began to fail. She was truly loved by both, her coworkers and students. Early in life, Freddie gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Joshua Baptist Church. She later joined Canty Memorial Church of God in Christ and was a faithful member until being led by the Spirit of God to join Catoe Chapel Church of God in Christ, where she was a faithful licensed Missionary, Choir Member and Local Hospitality President. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 28 years, Samuel Carr; two sons, Samuel Stephon Carr and Trevin Keyron Carr, all of Rembert; seven sisters, Geraldine (Leroy) Williams, Mary Alice Thompson, Merilyn Durant, Panzie (Alvin) Dow, Charissa (Albert) Robinson of Rembertt, Ella M. Rivers of Dalzell and Betty Webb of Sumter; three brothers, Larry (Shirley) Durant of Rembert, Robert Lee (Josephine) Durant and Pastor James P. (Letitia) Durant of Columbia; two aunts; three special grandbabies; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 5650 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 12 noon from the Catoe Chapel Church of God in Christ, 2297 Bethune Road, Bethune with Superintendent James Lee, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11 a. m. The funeral procession will leave from the home at 11:00 a. m. Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell.
