Marcus C. Morgan departed this earthly life on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. He was the third child born to the late J D and Susie Deas Morgan. Marcus came to live with his grandparents as a toddler, the late Solomon and Esther Deas, where he was loved and raised with his brothers, aunts and uncles in which he held a special place in their hearts. Marcus worshiped at Cherryvale Baptist Church, where he sang on the choir and ushered. He was educated in Sumter County District Two School System, where he ran track. He leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Rudolph Morgan (Gizzelle) of Stafford, VA, Donald Deas (Brenda) of Colorado Springs, CO; three uncles, Herbert Dease (Barbara), Elbert Deas (Juanita), Norris Deas (Barbara) of Sumter; five aunts, Gloria Deas Brooks (John), Carol Deas, Cassie Deas of Sumter, Linda Deas of New York, NY, Rebecca Carter of Savannah, GA; two nephews; one sister-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 1800 West Brewington Road, Sumter. Homegoing celebration will be held 2 p. m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 from the Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p. m. The funeral procession will leave from the home at 1:15 p. m. Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Churchyard Cemetery
