Vinia Mae Gamble Williams, 82, affectionately known as “Ma-Ma”, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Born December 17, 1934, in Greenville, she was the eldest of ten children born to the late R. C. Gamble, Sr. and Mary Jane Croft Gamble. She was educated in the public school system of Greenville. She helped raised her siblings and after meeting the love of her life, Waddell Williams, she traveled throughout the country with him. They were married for 60 years and this union was blessed with four daughters. She then resided in Sumter, where she joined Unionville A. M. E. Church. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Lorese Williams of Dalzell, Colette Terrell of McDonough, GA and Connie Williams of Sumter; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn McKinney of Mauldin; brothers, John V. Gamble (Della) of Hyattsville, MD, Leroy Gambrell (Lucille) Modesto, GA, R. C. Gamble (Margaret) of Fairfax, VA, Julius Gamble (Dorese) of Fayetteville, GA, Maxie Gamble (Sandra) and Rev. Johnny Flemming (Lillian) of Greenville; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, god daughters and sons, and friends. Homegoing Services will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at noon from the Unionville A. M. E. Church, 1331 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 3115 Georgia Street, Dalzell. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11 a. m. The procession will leave from the home at 11:15 a. m. Burial will be in the Unionville A. M. E. Church Cemetery.
