Pinkney Dinkins, Jr., 79, departed this earthly life on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Kershaw Health Hospital, Camden. Born May 1, 1938, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Pinkney Dinkins, Sr. and Sarah Atkinson Dinkins. He attended the public schools of Sumter County and Boces Technical Trade School, White Plains, NY. He was a member of Willow Grove A. M. E. Church. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 59 years, Francis R. Dinkins; one son, Roy Dinkins of Westchester County, NY; one brother; five sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 2 p. m. from the Willow Grove A. M. E. Church, 8105 Sumters Landing Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Wallace Preston, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 6750 Light House Lane, Rembert. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p. m. The procession will leave from the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will be in the Willow Grove A. M. E. Church Cemetery.
