Maggie L. Robinson Magazine, 97, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at her home. Born December 28, 1919, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Amy Robinson. She attended the public schools of Sumter County. She worked for several businesses in the Sumter area before retiring from Campbell Soup Company. Early in life she joined Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member until the end. She was a devoted wife to the late James “Buck” Magazine, Sr. She leaves to cherish fond memories: seven sons, James (Emma) Magazine, Marion Magazine, William (Lillie) Magazine, Lucius (Viola) Magazine, John Magazine, Robert (Luella) Magazine, all of Sumter, Ernest (Royann) of Timmonsville; three daughters, Marie (James) Brisbon of Camden, Minnie Frierson and Frances Grant, both of Sumter; one grandson, Willie White, Jr. of Columbia and a niece, Willie Mae (Willie) Washington of Sumter, that were reared in the home; a step daughter, Mary (Frank) Brisbon of Santee; twenty seven grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Celebration of Life services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11 a. m. from the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Annie H. Sistrunk, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving relatives and friends at her home, 101 Agnes Street, Sumter. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The procession will leave 10:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
