Martha Ann Williams , 52,departed this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Palmetto Health Baptist Church, Columbia.

 

Born March 5, 1957, in Lee County, she was the daughter of Hattie Mae McDaniel Williams and the late David Williams, Jr.

Martha completed her formal education in Brooklyn, NY and began working throughout the City of New York.

She was a member of New Covenant Church of God In Christ, Brooklyn, NY, and gave her life to the Lord at a young age. Martha served as the president of the Hospitality Board at her local church. She also served on the Hospitality Board in the District and State Churches of God In Christ. She sang with the Local and District church choirs and with the New Covenant Specials.

Martha married Calvin Dais, Sr. on March 28, 1978. She was known for being a fashionista and her infectious laugh. She loved the Lord and often led the family’s weekly prayer.

She and her children moved to Bishopville, and later moved to Columbia to reside and work.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her children, Calvin Jr., Derrell, Shetara and Talima; three grandchildren, Amiyah, T’yanna and Danielle; her loving mother, Hattie Mae; four sisters, Esther, Cleo, Michelle and Cecelia; seven aunts, Lelea Amacker, Annette Williams, Wilhelmina Williams, Helen McDuffie, Linda Pearson, Ruby Williams, and Lily Phillips; two uncles, Earnest McDaniel and John L. Williams; special friends, Eartha Harris, Hattie Brown, Pamela Toomer and Audrey Bates; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p. m., Monday, January 11, 2010 from the Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, 771 Central School Road, Spring Hill Community of Lee County, with Pastor Arnold J. Jackson, Sr., of City of Refuge Bible Fellowship, Amityville, New York, officiating, eulogist, assisted by Rev. Charles Williams, Pastor Lelea I. Amacker of Brooklyn, N. Y, and Evangelist Esther Williams.

 

The family will received friends at the home of Mrs. Geneva Burris, 701 Frierson Street, Bishopville.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p. m.

The funeral procession will leave from the home of Mrs. Geneva Burris at 1:20 p. m.

Floral Bearers and Pall Bearers will be family and friends.

Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Holines Church Yard Cemetery, Spring Hill Community.
